"Both Alexia and I arrived at Leigha's shop, by the back entrance, going in as women, but leaving auspiciously disguised as gentlemen! After binding our female curves, Leigha provided suits, cravats, and hats. I provided fake mustache and facial hair, and spectacles. Our hair was straightened and pulled back tightly.
At the burlesque theatre, we entered separately, each taking a seat near the back. I could spot Mr. Henderson overseeing the stage, and nodded a greeting. The audience was mainly composed of men, with a few accompanying ladies. Most were enjoying refreshments provided by the theatre company.
From the conversations from the gentlemen around me, I learned that since Mr. Henderson took over as manager, the prior "feminine wit" that parodied well-known plays, operas, and ballets was gradually being replaced with more than simply nude color tights (or they snickered, less). It seems to be the general feeling that Mr. Henderson was determined to show as much skin as local magistrates would allow.
The show began with Act One- mostly songs and gags. Act Two was a variety of acts, followed by Act Three, which was the main 'take-off'. Overall, the show was not obscene or vulgar; I think Henderson's aim was to 'titilate' and tease with sexual innuendo, but not to offend. Scarlett was amazing- a wonderful performer!
Between each act there was intermission; I made my way to the lobby (with 'Mr. Alec' trailing behind) at the first intermission and made a point of introducing myself to Mr. Henderson. At the second intermission, I expressed my enjoyment of Scarlett's 'parts', adding an obvious wink. And then at the completion of Act Three, I thanked Mr. Henderson for an entertaining show and expressed my interest to "see more"."
This brings us to deliberation re STEP 2: EXPOSE
Mr. Henderson extended a personal invitation to Mr. Kaye for a "private" performance featuring Scarlett, which 'he' accepted with the condition that a business associate, Mr. Alec, could attend also. Mr. Henderson agreed, and indicated the fee for such a performance, payable in advance.
Fortunately, Alexia (Mr. Alec) was still hanging back and took a photo of the exchange of money & 2 tokens. A time was agreed upon, which precedes the burlesque performance next week. So Step 2: Expose is now in operation; we have agreed that Alexia and Kate will return in disguise, and attend the "private performance". The mystery is that Scarlett has not been approached by Henderson about the "private" show and so is a bit confused, yet as her sorority sisters will be her audience, she is assured of her safety. Alexia will reload the camera and take photos.
